Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla is the Premier League’s pass master.

Move over Cesc Fabregas, there is a new pass master in the Premier League.

Santi Cazorla broke Fabregas’ season best record for the number of accurate passes recorded in a single match this season.

The Arsenal star managed 155 against Sunderland, breaking the 144 Fabregas racked up against West Brom, a feat which had remained unbroken since the opening weekend of the season.

The number of passes made is connected to the total number of touches, and this was another area in which Cazorla set a Premier League best last night, again beating Cesc Fabregas. Touching the ball more than 150 times in the same game is a feat managed by only four players this season.

These were not the only record Cazorla broke against Sunderland last night. He made 86 of his passes in the final third, showing he was not just passing the ball around his own box, beating the previous best managed by David Silva.

Teammate Aaron Ramsey also features third on the list, with his performance against Sunderland last night seeing him make 68 final third passes.
