Bukayo Saka says he and Emile Smith Rowe spoke about how special it would be to score in a north London derby before Arsenal beat Tottenham on Sunday, via the Evening Standard.
The Gunners ran riot at home to their rivals with Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Saka all on the scoresheet. Smith Rowe broke the deadlock after just 12-minutes as he ghosted into the box unchecked to meet Saka’s delivery.
Smith Rowe then found Aubameyang to double their advantage before Saka had his goal. Keeping calm and composed to nick the ball away from Harry Kane, as the Spurs striker sought to make up for losing possession, and drilling into the far corner of Hugo Lloris’ net.

Sunday’s north London derby was a first for Saka with Arsenal fans in attendance, with his three previous all behind mostly closed doors. Smith Rowe had also never faced Tottenham with Gunners supporters in attendance, with fans locked out of his previous clash.
Smith Rowe and Saka spoke of scoring for Arsenal
Saka and Smith Rowe helped Arsenal run the show against Tottenham on Sunday. The pair frequently pulled the visitor’s defence apart as Mikel Arteta’s side took control in the first-half. Their delight grew with both also getting on the scoresheet to help settle the result.
Smith Rowe described scoring in the north London derby on Twitter as the ‘Best day of my life’. Saka would agree with the sentiment after also finding the back of the net, which the winger says they discussed ahead of the game, as well.
“I’d say it’s the same for me,” Saka said. “We spoke about this; about how massive it would feel to score in a north London derby. When Emile scored the first goal, I looked him at him and we remembered the conversation. When I scored, he looked at me again, so it’s a very, very special feeling for both of us. I’m so happy we could do it together.
Saka added: “It was a goal made in Hale End. We both grew up supporting Arsenal, we both grew up watching these games and wanting to be involved in them. Now, to be involved and score, it’s a special feeling.”
