Arsenal still want Moises Caicedo on deadline day with Stan Kroenke allegedly giving the green light to a last-gasp deadline day offer.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Kroenke will release funds for Arsenal to go and strike a club-record deal for Caicedo.

Arsenal’s current record stands at the £72million they probably wish they hadn’t paid for winger Nicolas Pepe.

Arsenal are now ready to launch one last bid for Caicedo on deadline day, with the Gunners willing to go to £75million for the midfielder.

Caicedo has submitted a transfer request and has been told to stay away from Brighton until after the transfer window closes.

The 21-year-old has been given time to clear his head given that he wants to join Arsenal, so the coming hours will be huge for him.

Mixed signals emerging over Arsenal move for Moises Caicedo

Maybe Kroenke really does feel that this is Arsenal’s big chance to win the Premier League title, so releasing the money for Caicedo is worth it.

Caicedo, hailed as ‘incredible’ by teammate Adam Webster, is a huge talent who can not only make an impact right now, but also for years to come.

That’s the kind of prospect Arsenal need to be signing and Kroenke may believe that the time is right for the Gunners to go big.

Yet reports of an imminent bid from Arsenal have been played down by the Daily Mail.

They actually suggest that Arsenal fear ruining their strong relationship with Brighton if they make another bid for Caicedo.

It may be the case that Kroenke will allow Arsenal to make that bid for Caicedo if they want to, but Edu will weigh up whether it’s worth pushing Brighton on deadline day.

A deal for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho seems more likely right now but Kroenke seems to be backing Arsenal all the way if a deal is there to be done for Caicedo.
