Arsenal already have a logjam in wide areas, but they’re now being linked with another winger in Southampton ace Mohamed Elyounoussi.

The Gunners can’t even get Gabriel Martinelli into the side at the moment.

Nicolas Pepe is on the fringes with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe currently featuring out wide.

You would think that the last thing Arsenal want is another winger, but they’re now being linked with Elyounoussi.

The Sunday Mirror (17/10, p74) report that Arsenal are battling Leicester City for Elyounoussi’s signature.

The £60,000-a-week wide man has shown promise this season after returning from a two-year loan at Celtic.

Elyounoussi is an international teammate of Martin Odegaard and many well fancy joining forces at Arsenal.

In the case of Elyounoussi though, Saints fans are a little confused.

They think the rumour of Arsenal wanting Elyounoussi must be a wind up because he hasn’t done nearly enough at Southampton.

Others think Arsenal must be desperate if they’re making a move for Elyounoussi.

Some would want £20million or even £50million for Elyounoussi, but generally think Arsenal wanting him is ‘unbelievable’.
