Arsenal starlet Emile Smith Rowe is making real strides this season, with Chelsea defender Reece James clearly rates him very highly indeed.

Smith Rowe scored the winner for Arsenal in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Watford, meaning he has now scored in three straight games.

The 21-year-old also found the net against Aston Villa and Leicester, becoming a great source of goals for the Gunners.

Smith Rowe has now earned a first senior call-up for England, and that means playing alongside Chelsea right back Reece James.

James has now admitted that he has always known how good Smith Rowe is because they were briefly at Chelsea together.

It seems that Smith Rowe – a boyhood Arsenal fan – had trials with Chelsea before signing for the Gunners.

Smith Rowe didn’t get a deal for whatever reason, and Arsenal will be very, very happy about that.

Chelsea fans react to Smith Rowe story

Chelsea fans are absolutely loving this story as it only furthers their belief that Cobham is creating all of the country’s talent.

James, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all featuring in the Chelsea side.

Even Declan Rice, arguably the best English holding midfield around, started out at Chelsea.

Chelsea fans suggested that they just can’t be stopped as even Arsenal are taking youngsters formerly of Chelsea, branding their youth setup ‘absolutely ridiculous’.
