Arsenal should act fast and secure Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson, as other Premier League clubs hesitate over his price tag.
Ben Gibson, 24, is still wondering where his future lies, after Middlesbrough’s relegation to the Championship. A host of Premier League sides look to be considering Middlesbrough’s asking price for the defender, which has been set at £25m. Leicester City, one club closely linked, are having second thoughts, the Sun reports.
Arsenal are one side who should renew their interest in the player, but the Gunners have been slow to make their moves this summer. Their only signing so far is Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac though further moves are expected.

Others have pushed in front of Arsenal in the pursuit of Gibson since their interest, as reported by the Daily Express, in May. But there are reasons why Arsene Wenger should consider firming up their interest once again.
Gibson would be a strong addition to the Arsenal squad, which conceded 44 goals last season – the worst record in the top six, especially with Wenger possibly employing three at the back next season. While Gibson played in a relegated side, he was ever-present for Middlesbrough playing for 3420 minutes and making 234 clearances, including one off clearance the line.
The Gunners can’t delay though as Stoke City, Spurs and Southampton are now far better backed to sign the Middlesbrough man, according to SkyBet.
Both North London clubs should appeal to left-footed Gibson, but there are reasons why he should choose Arsenal. At the Emirates he would have the opportunity to play in a side pushing to get back in the top four. On the basis of last season, Tottenham Hotspur could be the stronger option if he wants a title medal, but the defensive options are harder to break into.
Gibson would have a reasonable chance at making appearances at Arsenal, who could arguably do with a specialised left sided centre back to fit into their three.
