Jermaine Jenas has claimed on Twitter that ‘Arsenal should have found a way’ to put the money on the table for Mykhailo Mudryk after his impressive debut for Chelsea.

For weeks and weeks, Arsenal thought they were going to land Mudryk’s signature, the player himself was preparing to join Mikel Arteta’s Premier League title-charging side, only for Todd Boehly to come swooping in at the last minute.

Ever since the Chelsea owner has taken to the hot seat at Stamford Bridge, he has gone money-crazy in the market, including blowing their London rivals out of the water for Mudryk by signing him for £88.5 million (Sky Sports).

Well, fans got an early glimpse of the damage the 22-year-old might just cause because, during Chelsea’s drab goalless draw against Liverpool, he looked very, very lively.

Despite not playing since November, he was fearless without the ball and he showcased that raw speed which is going to hurt many, many opposition players up and down the land.

Despite Arsenal landing Leandro Trossard, former Premier League midfielder Jenas thinks, on first viewing, the current leaders should have done everything to sign Mudryk.

TROSSARD V MUDRYK

Whilst Mudryk has that unknown quality about him, fans know all about Trossard and it’s going to be interesting to see how he fairs on his Arsenal debut.

It’s the small matter of facing off against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United for his possible debut – the only team that have beaten Arteta’s men this season.

Either way, from now until the end of the season, and then in the long run, it will be interesting to see how the duo fair.

Mudryk no doubt has long-term potential because he is six years younger than the Belgian, but if Trossard can help Arsenal to the Premier League title this season, then they won’t care one bit even if the Ukraine star goes on to become one of the best in the world.
