Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are about to miss out on Dusan Vlahovic, and it seems that the Gunners will not be able to sign Samuele Ricci in the January transfer window either.

The Guardian have reported that Juventus are on the verge of striker Vlahovic from Fiorentina, leaving Arsenal bitterly disappointed.

Arsenal reportedly want(ed) to sign the Serbia international striker, but the North London club are about to miss out on his signature.

And now, according to Alfredo Pedulla on Twitter, Torino are set to sign Ricci from Empoli, meaning that Arsenal will miss out on the 20-year-old midfielder as well.

It seems that Ricci has decided to move to Torino, not Arsenal.

The well-known and well-respected SkySport journalist has claimed that Torino will pay €11 million (£9.16 million) for the Italy Under-21 international.

Earlier this week, CalcioMercato reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Ricci in the January transfer window.

Arsenal should continue to monitor Samuele Ricci

In our view, Arsenal should continue to Ricci even if he joins Torino in the January transfer window.

After all, Ricci is only 20, and his best years are ahead of him.

We know that Arsenal are looking for a new midfielder to bolster their squad.

And, in our view, interest in a player described as “mini Jorginho” earlier this month. by Gazzetta, as reported earlier this month in The Mirror makes sense in the long term.

Jorginho is one of the best midfielders in Europe, and the Chelsea star is also a regular in the Italy team, playing a big role in them winning Euro 2020 in the summer of 2021.

Ricci could get just as good as him, if not better.

The Italian has made 17 starts and four substitute appearances in Serie A so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process.
