Arsenal are considering sending David Raya to Brentford on loan for this season after signing him on a permanent contract, according to 90min.

It has been reported that the Gunners are considering a deal in which they will sign Raya from Brentford in the summer transfer window and then send him out on loan immediately to the Bees for the 2020-21 campaign.

This comes after The Telegraph reported that Brentford have turned down an offer of £10 million from Arsenal for the 25-year-old – described as “a very good goalkeeper” by Bees head coach Thomas Frank on the club’s official website in July 2019.

Sky Sports have claimed that the Championship club are willing to sell the Spaniard to Arsenal, but only if they can have him back on loan for this season, and, according to 90min, it seems that the Gunners are open to that deal.

Need for a new goalkeeper

Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal at the moment, and that is not going to change anytime soon.

However, manager Mikel Arteta needs to bring in a new player between the posts, as Emiliano Martinez has left for Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Martinez did well in the final weeks of last season, and the Gunners need to sign someone who is just as good.
