A reported Arsenal target has been given the seal of approval by quite an iconic figure in the world of football.
If rumours are believed, the Gunners want to sign Inter Milan full-back Achraf Hakimi in the summer.
The Telegraph reported this week that both Arsenal and Chelsea are watching the former Real Madrid bullet, who is quicker than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
It’s an exciting prospect to consider him joining the North Londoners, but it’s extra special because a certain Ronaldo – the Brazilian one – also seems to be a big fan.
Here’s what the legendary striker told Gazetta Dello Sport about him in January: “Achraf Hakimi is an extraordinary player. Real were wrong to let him go like that. It is one of Inter’s best deals of the last ten years. Every now and then I think to myself, ‘Ronie, imagine yourself with Hakimi’.”
Ronaldo is right – this really is a frightening talent and the Spanish giants will be kicking themselves for letting him go.
But can Arsenal afford him? Look at the numbers.
He joined Inter for £34 million and is having a brilliant first season at San Siro. This is a 22-year-old and is arguably one of the most effective full-backs in world football.
In other words, Inter can sell him for an absolute bomb this summer and honestly, Arsenal have no chance of being able to compete for his signature.
