According to FC Inter News, Arsenal are interested in signing Marash Kumbulla from Hellas Verona in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Everton are reported to want the 20-year-old defender this summer as well.

Inter Milan and RB Leipzig also want the youngster, who prefers to stay in Italy and is valued at €30 million (£26.82 million) by his club Hellas.

Football in England and Italy is suspended at the moment due to the global health crisis, and it is not clear when the summer transfer window will open.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Kumbulla has made 18 appearances in Serie A for Hellas so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.

Huge praise

Kumbulla is a very talented and promising young defender who has already made his debut for the Albania national football team.

The defender has been compared to Juventus and Italy international central defender Giorgio Chiellini, who is one of the world’s best ever player in his position and is still going strong at the age of 35.

Federico Balzaretti, who played with Chiellini for Juventus and Italy, said about Kumbulla to Goal.com in April 2020, as translated by Football.London: “In the last few years, defenders are formed who are good at building the play but have problems in the defensive phase.

“Kumbulla, on the other hand, is a ‘defender’ defender, the first thing he thinks of is defending his goal and not conceding. Kumbulla reminds me a little of a young Giorgio Chiellini.”
