According to BBC Sport, Arsenal are optimistic that they can agree a deal with Celtic over the transfer of Kieran Tierney, and this will come as a disappointment for Everton.

Herald Scotland has claimed of interest in Celtic left-back Tierney from Arsenal and Everton.

BBC Sport has reported that although Arsenal have had a bid of £15m for the Scotland international turned down by the Hoops, the two clubs are in talks, and there is optimism in the Premier League club’s camp that an agreement will be reached.

Disappointment for Everton

Arsenal’s reported optimism regarding the signing of Tierney is bad news for Everton, who are also claimed to be interested in the 22-year-old.

The Toffees could do with a young and promising left-back such as Tierney, and it will be a loss for them if they are unable to convince the Scotsman to switch to Celtic Park.

Tierney is one of the best young left-backs in the world, and he can only get better in the coming years.
