Calum Chambers took part in full Arsenal training today.
The former Southampton defender, a £16 million addition back in 2014 [The Guardian], was spotted running at London Colney last week.
But Chambers was involved in little or no ball work on that occasoin, though that wasn’t the case this afternoon.
The Arsenal centre-back was in the thick of things as Mikel Arteta put his side through their paces a little earlier today.
It’s great to see, given that the 25-year-old hasn’t played for the Gunners in any capacity since December following a long-term knee injury.
But he looks to be firmly on the comeback trail and here’s how Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to training-ground footage of him today:
Chambers continues to be linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, though the speculation never made much sense.
As mentioned, we’re talking about a player who hasn’t played in 2020 as of yet and although he’s back in full training, it’ll take quite a few more weeks before he’s fit enough to stake a claim in Arteta’s first XI again.
He was one of Arsenal’s best performers during the few games he had under Arteta prior to the injury and it’ll be very interesting to see if he can recapture that standard.
