Andrea Berta has reportedly highlighted a potential addition for Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window.

Mikel Arteta is considering making adjustments in the new year, as Arsenal aim to end their two-decade wait for a Premier League title.

Departures are also on the cards, with Ethan Nwaneri possibly heading out on loan to get more playing time.

As far as incomings go, it’s obvious where the Gunners need reinforcements. Central midfield is certainly one of them.

Berta has been linked with one player who could help address that gap – a highly regarded midfielder currently playing in South America.

Arsenal reportedly reignite interest in Breno Bidon

Arsenal first looked into signing Breno Bidon from Corinthians back in the summer, and there are now reports that they’ve made contact again.

That update comes from journalist Samir Carvalho, who shared the latest developments on his YouTube channel.

“Now Arsenal’s name comes up. Arsenal are one of the clubs that recently contacted Corinthians,” said Carvalho.

The Gunners are thought to be one of three clubs to reach out about Bidon. However, Carvalho added that none have yet put forward a formal bid.

The 20-year-old midfielder has made a strong impression at Corinthians since breaking through, but not everyone at the club would be pleased if he were to join.

Why Gabriel Magalhaes might have mixed feelings about a Bidon deal

Bringing in a promising young player is usually seen as a positive move, but there are exceptions—especially when it comes to personal ties.

That’s something Gabriel Magalhaes might have to deal with if Arsenal move for Bidon, who currently plays for Corinthians—the club he supports.

Both Gabriel and Martinelli are known supporters of Corinthians, with the defender even expressing a desire to play for the club someday.

However, there’s no doubt Gabriel would still welcome Bidon’s arrival at Arsenal. He’s even gone so far as to call him a ‘genius’ on Instagram.

While the 20-year-old clearly has support from inside the squad, it remains to be seen if Arteta and Berta feel strongly enough to push through a deal.
