Arsenal now face an enormous battle to sign AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao after Paris Saint-Germain made their interest in a big-money deal known.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that PSG have told Milan they’re willing to pay a huge €70million (£59million) to sign Leao this summer.
PSG are also willing to pay Leao €6million-a-year, which works out to around £97,000-a-week.
At the moment, neither Milan nor Leao are thought to be interested in the move and the Serie A side have hope of securing a new contract with Leao.
Let’s see if PSG come back with a new offer, as the Ligue 1 giants have cash to throw at Milan and Leao.
PSG are set to lose Kylian Mbappe this summer and may have viewed Leao as a replacement for the French superstar.
After all, Leao has been branded the ‘Portuguese Mbappe’ thanks to his pace and ability to play across the front line.
All of this is a blow to Arsenal’s hopes of signing Leao amid claims from La Repubblica that the Gunners are at the front of the queue.

Firstly, it sounds like Leao isn’t all that keen on leaving Milan, so Arsenal will have a hard job convincing him to make the move to North London.
When you add in that PSG want Leao too, Arsenal may not be the first choice even if Leao does change his mind given PSG’s ability to splash the cash.
Leao, 22, has been shining this season, hitting eight goals and three assists in 25 Serie A games.
Arsenal absolutely need to spend big on a new striker this summer, but a deal for Leao now looks somewhat unlikely unless Edu can pull off a masterstroke.
