Rob Holding praised Emilinao Martinez on his Instagram live early on Wednesday morning after an Aston Villa fan was thanking him for the highly-regarded goalkeeper.
Following Arsenal’s win against Brighton on Tuesday, Holding was on Instagram live talking with a friend, who happened to be a Villa supporter.
Given that the Gunners had just picked up three points, inevitably, the talk turned to football and Villa signing Martinez this summer.
“Thanks for Martinez, bro,” the Aston Villa fan told Holding and also shared to him that the summer signing has been a ‘sick player’ for them.
The Arsenal centre-back responded by saying: “He’s a good keeper and he’s a good guy as well. He’s such a good guy.”

Martinez helped Arsenal lift the FA Cup and the Community Shield towards the back end of the last campaign, but it wasn’t enough to keep his services in North London.
The Argentina international was looking for regular first-team football and he wasn’t going to get that at the Emirates with Mikel Arteta opting to pick Bernd Leno ahead of him.
Whilst Arsenal supporters rue letting the popular player go, those at Villa Park are delighted because he has been one of their best players this season.
Dean Smith’s men are sitting fifth in the Premier League table, with games in hand on the teams around them, as Martinez has been a key reason behind their rise during this campaign.
