Arsenal secured a 2-1 win against Manchester United to take their place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Arsenal edged out Manchester United last night in a tense FA Cup encounter, which sees the Gunners one step closer to retaining the trophy in front of a sell-out crowd at Wembley.
Here are our player ratings for the action last night.
Szczesny – 6
Didn’t look anything like his best, but the Pole made good saves at important moments during the game.
Bellerin – 6
Showed a little naivety when he picked up an early yellow card, which meant he was always going to be under pressure for the rest of the game.
Mertesacker – 7
This is the German Arsenal need to see in every game. He rose to the occasion and had a commanding presence all over the defence.
Koscielny – 7
Looked decent throughout the game. May feel he could have closed down the space on Rooney a bit more.
Monreal – 8
Great composure for his goal and looked solid in attack and in a more withdrawn defensive role.
Coquelin – 8
Was superb doing the dirty work in Arsenal’s midfield. He never let any United player settle in possession for long.
Cazorla – 7
Another night and he could have got himself a goal. Played well in the middle and gradually took control of things.
Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7
Defined pace and energy on his side of the pitch. Attacked from the off and United struggled to deal with him throughout.
Ozil – 6
Tidy but Wenger will be expecting more from him and will want him to take a more dominant role in this sort of game.
Welbeck – 7
Looked rusty initially but gradually came into the game. His goal showed what it meant to score against his old team.
Sanchez – 7
Showed great attacking threat and battled away all night. He could have been the match winner on another day.
