Arsenal summer signing Thomas Partey was in action for Ghana on Monday, and his performance against Qatar impressed the local media.
The midfielder, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid on summer transfer deadline day, played for Ghana in their friendly international against Qatar.
The 27-year-old provided two assists and was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park, as Charles Akonnor’s side won 5-1.
Local media in Ghana have praised Partey highly. While Football Made in Ghana gave the midfielder 7 out of 10 for his performance against Qatar, My Joy Online gave him an 8.
My Joy Online, which has 1,463,633 followers on Facebook, wrote that against Qatar, Partey gave “a monstrous performance” and bossed “the game from beginning to end”.
Football Made in Ghana, which has over 23,000 followers on Twitter, stated that the midfielder “looked sharp” and “bossed the midfield.”

It is very encouraging for Arsenal that Partey did so well for Ghana, and fans of the Premier League club will hope that he brings that form to club football.
The midfielder has yet to train with the Arsenal first team, and it will be interesting to see if he is involved in the Gunners’ Premier League game against Manchester City on Saturday.
Even if it takes the midfielder a while to settle into life in the Premier League, Arsenal fans should be confident of the 27-year-old being a success at the club.
