Arsenal take on Manchester United in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Arsenal’s Petr Cech applauds their fans after the match
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has told the club’s official website that this weekend’s clash with Manchester United is a six-pointer.
Arsenal have enjoyed a strong start to the season and currently find themselves fourth in the table, two points behind league leaders Liverpool.
For many, they are serious title contenders this season, with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez performing so well in their side.
To be contenders, though, they will have to beat the big teams such as Manchester United, who they have failed to beat at Old Trafford for a decade.
And Cech has admitted this weekend’s clash between the two teams is very much a six-pointer.
“It is another six-point game,” he told arsenal’s official website.
“We drew the match against Spurs and there is a little gap between us and Liverpool, so you want to make sure that you stay very close and that every time they drop points, you are ready to take advantage.”
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho looks on from the stands
It will certainly be interesting to see how Arsenal approach this game against Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho’s team have not been at their best so far this season, to say the least, and now is the perfect time for Arsene Wenger’s side to take advantage.
If they can do so, and come away with all three points, then for many that will mean they are genuine title contenders this season.
If they do not come away with a win, however, then the same criticisms from the past are likely to rise again.
