Arsenal are keen on signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and may have been impressed with his showing against Gunners loanee Pablo Mari.
Arsenal were focused on their game against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, securing a 1-0 win away at Villa Park.
On the same day over in Italy, Napoli were hosting Udinese in a crucial game for their title hopes.
Arsenal may well have had somebody watching this game given that Mari was facing off against Arsenal target Osimhen.
Mari was loaned out during the January transfer window having failed to nail down a first-team role under Mikel Arteta.
Mari was directly defending against Osimhen on Saturday, who Arsenal want to sign during the summer window according to reports from The Mirror.
Napoli ran out 2-1 winners with Osimhen firing a second-half brace, securing all three points for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
A header from a set piece drew Napoli level before great movement saw Osimhen smash in the winner, continuing Napoli’s push for the title.
It was a difficult afternoon for Mari, who was sent off in the second half. Mari received a straight red card for a high foul on Piotr Zielinski.

Tuttomercatoweb commented on Mari’s display, stating that he started well against Osimhen but then really suffered.
Osimhen seemingly turned it around and hit Udinese where it hurt in the second half, taking his goal tally for the season to 11 goals in 20 games.
Osimhen looks the part in Napoli’s attack and could be the man Arsenal really need to spearhead their front line.
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract this summer so Arsenal may look to spend big money on a striker.
Osimhen is shining in Italy and his display against Mari may have left Arsenal very impressed ahead of the summer window.
