Arsenal clearly need to find some more creativity, but one of their main targets has slipped through the net today.
The Gunners have scored just three times in their last nine Premier League games, with only one of them coming from open play.
Mikel Arteta could surely love for a little more guile and flair around the final third, and fans have been keen for Red Bull Salzburg star Dominik Szoboszlai to arrive.
The Athletic recently noted that Arsenal have considered signing the Hungarian, though did have some concern about his ball retention and defensive work.
With nine goals and 10 assists in 21 games this season, Szoboszlai has been a star in Hungary, whilst he has also fired his country to the European Championship.
His ability to play as a number 10 or in from the left flank would have made him ideal for Arsenal – but they have now missed out on a deal.

RB Leipzig – Salzburg’s sister club – have today confirmed the signing of Szoboszlai on a four-and-a-half-year deal until 2025.
Their relationship with Salzburg was likely key here, but the deal means Arsenal must now go back to the drawing board in search of a playmaker having officially missed out on Szoboszlai.
