Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard scored yet again on Saturday afternoon, earning praise from teammate Gabriel Martinelli in the process.

Arsenal beat Southampton 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in a routine win.

Alexandre Lacazette, Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes all got themselves on the scoresheet in a positive afternoon for Arsenal.

Odegaard’s stunning run continues

It’s not that long ago that Odegaard was out of the Arsenal team.

Mikel Arteta went to a 4-4-2, meaning Odegaard just didn’t fit in. That’s hardly ideal for your £30million, £85,000-a-week summer signing.

Odegaard has hit back in style though. Saturday’s goal was Odegaard’s third goal in a row for Arsenal having also scored against Manchester United and Everton.

Seen as technically impressive but sometimes lacking consistent end product, Odegaard is now making great late runs into the box.

Not only is Odegaard getting there, but he is also finishing off the chances when they come.

Martinelli hails Arsenal teammate Odegaard

Arsenal fans have been hailing Odegaard, who is in his best run of form for the club.

Gunners teammate Martinelli has now taken to Instagram to offer a brief but strong verdict.

Martinelli simply stated ‘what a player’ in response to Odegaard’s post – a little more sensible than Rob Holding calling him ‘Martin Ohmygod’!

Martinelli would do well to learn from Odegaard at Arsenal, with the Norwegian now getting the numbers to back up his approach play.
