According to Voetbol Belgie, Arsenal are interested in a move for Brighton winger Leandro Trossard.
Trossard has recently established himself as one of the most stylish and effective wingers in the Premier League, and now, he’s attracting interest from the Gunners.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Arsenal have gone in for the Belgian.
Indeed, the Brighton ace admitted back in 2019 that he’d actually rejected Arsenal in favour of a move to the south coast, despite the fact Brighton are a mid-table club.
What’s been said?
Trossard spoke about rejecting Arsenal when speaking to Nieuwsblad.
“I was in conversations with Arsenal. (But) a move to Arsenal or Atlético Madrid might not have been the right one,” Trossard said.
“The trainer, Graham Potter, had come to the Belgium team hotel in Tubize three weeks before my wedding to come and talk to me. That he came for that made me feel good.
“Brighton were nervous and pushed to (complete the) deal quickly. And Brighton is not the worst place to live.”

Ready now
Trossard seemingly wasn’t ready for a move to a club like Arsenal or Madrid back in 2019, but after three years honing his craft in the Premier League, he may now feel as though he’s ready to make that step up.
The 27-year-old is a fantastically talented player. After all, you don’t play for the Belgian national team these days if you’re not a brilliant footballer, and he should be at a club playing at least Europa League football.
A move to Arsenal would be perfect for the diminutive winger, and after developing under Graham Potter, he should jump at the chance to join the Gunners, despite snubbing their approach a few years ago.
