According to The Sun, Arsenal are interested in a move for Isco as his Sevilla future comes into question.
The former Real Madrid man only joined Sevilla in the summer, but after a shocking start to the season, the Spanish club are ready to get rid of the attacking midfielder.
For the umpteenth time in his career, Isco is being linked with a move to the Premier League, and, once again, Arsenal are keen.
This is a player who hasn’t delivered in recent years, but there is an innate talent in there ready to be unlocked.
Don’t just take our word for it though, former Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, managed Isco as a teenager, and from a young age he saw that the Spaniard had the potential to be great.
Emery loved Isco
Emery spoke highly of Isco during his time as Valencia manager.
“He has taken an important role in the game, and we will take this into account in the future. The team is working full-time to produce the players of the future, and these are the ones that are closest to the standard we need,” Emery said.
“Isco has played great, and I am happy for him. Paco Alcacer has also made good moves, he did not score, but his work showed that the goals will come.”
Unlock it
The talent is in there with Isco, it always has been, but he needs coaching correctly and putting into the right system to be unlocked.
To be fair, he looks as though he’d be a great fit in Mikel Arteta’s team in the Martin Odegaard role, but, of course, he wouldn’t be guaranteed a starting berth there.
We’ve seen Arteta work wonders with young players in the past, but can he do the same with an experienced star who has lost his way? Isco would be a great pet project for Arteta to test himself with.
