According to Eurosport, Arsenal are considering the future of Alexandre Lacazette.
It has been reported that Lacazette is entering the final 18 months of his contract at Arsenal.
The Gunners are starting to consider the situation of the France international striker and are in a dilemma whether to extend his deal or cash in on him, according to the report.
No need to rush
It is hard to see Arsenal sell Lacazette in the January transfer window, especially as the Gunners are not scoring enough goals.
The Frenchman has been deployed in a number 10 role by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, and with no Mesut Ozil in the squad at the moment, that is a position that the 29-year-old could make his own.
Arsenal should not be in a rush to extend the striker’s contract now and should wait until the end of the season to make a decision.
If the 29-year-old is able to have a good season and shows what he can offer, then the Gunners should look into the possibility of handing him a new deal.
Described as “a very efficient finisher” by then Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on the club’s official website in July 2017, Lacazette scored 10 goals in the Premier League last season and found the back of the net 13 times in the league in 2018-19, according to WhoScored.
