Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are competing with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United among other clubs for the signing of Joao Palhinha from Fulham in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham all are monitoring Palhinha.

The Portugal international midfielder joined Fulham in the summer of 2022 for £17 million, but he is now valued at over £40 million, according to the report.

Fulham, who are doing well in the Premier League at the moment, do not want to sell the 27-year-old defensive midfielder, who is “aggressive” according to former Manchester United winger Nani in Antena1 in November 2020.

Could Arsenal or Newcastle United sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham?

In our view, Arsenal or Newcastle United could be able to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham in the summer transfer window.

Yes, Fulham do not want to sell him, but let’s face it, if the Gunners or the Magpies bid for the midfielder, then it is unlikely that they will be able to keep him.

Arsenal could win the Premier League tile this season, while Newcastle could end up in the UEFA Champions League places.

A move to the Gunners or the Magpies could be hugely appealing to Palhinha.
