Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are leading the race for Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey and are willing to pay €20 million (£17.14 million) for him in the summer transfer window, according to 1000 Cuori Rossoblu.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Serie A outfit Napoli are also keen on the former Heart of Midlothian left-back.
Bologna do not want to sell Hickey, but a big offer could change their stance over the Scotland international defender, according to the report.
Aaron Hickey would be brilliant for Arsenal
In our opinion, Hickey would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal, not just for now, but for years to come as well.
After all, the former Celtic prospect is only 19 years of age at the moment.

We believe that Hickey is going to improve and develop in the coming years.
Kieran Tierney is the first-choice left-back at Arsenal, but the Scotland international has had injury problems.
Nuno Tavares has not always impressed.
If Arsenal finish in the Champions League places, then Hickey could get a decent amount of playing time at the Emirates Stadium next season.
The Bologna no. 3 has made 33 starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A this season.
Hickey – described by former Hearts manager Daniel Stendel as “an extraordinary talent” who is “like Philipp Lahm” in The Scottish Sun in August 2020 – has scored five goals and given one assist in those games.
