Arsenal are looking into signing Brahim Diaz – a player who previously left Mikel Arteta upset upon leaving Manchester City.

HITC Football understands that Arsenal are one of a handful of clubs to show an interest in signing Real Madrid ace Brahim Diaz.

Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen on Diaz whilst Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are looking too.

The 24-year-old has recently switched his international allegiance, choosing to play for Morocco instead of Spain.

Diaz is now wanted back in the Premier League, some five years since sealing a £15.5million move from Manchester City to Real.

How has Brahim Diaz fared for Real Madrid?

Diaz played just 21 times in his first 18 months at the Santiago Bernabeu, recording only two goals.

That resulted in Diaz being sent on a three-year loan to AC Milan, where Diaz hit 18 goals and 15 assists in 124 games.

Rather than sell Diaz at the end of that loan spell, Real brought him back into the fold in the Spanish capital.

Diaz has primarily featured as an attacking midfielder this season, offering competition for Jude Bellingham.

Nine goals and four assists is a decent return from Diaz this season and Arsenal could now move to land him.

Mikel Arteta could reunite with Brahim Diaz

Arsenal’s interest is surely being driven by Mikel Arteta.

The Arsenal boss coached Diaz during his time at Manchester City and had real admiration for the attacking midfielder.

In fact, Arteta was quoted in 2019 – just months before taking the Arsenal job – as saying that Diaz leaving City for Real really hurt him.

Arteta added that Diaz is a ‘huge talent’ who has real personality on the pitch, praising his love for football.

“It hurt me a lot,” said Arteta. “He has a huge talent, a lot of personality. And he loves football, he only lives for that,” he added.

We have seen Arsenal sign players with history under Arteta.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus both left Manchester City to reunite with Arteta in North London.

Diaz could end up following suit, adding another creative force to an already-exciting Arsenal side whilst reuniting with Arteta.
