Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah wants to join Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United on January transfer deadline day, according to The Times.
The Times have reported that Newcastle have stepped up their interest in Arsenal striker Nketiah.
The 22-year-old former Leeds United loanee is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season.
Nketiah has reportedly become frustrated at Arsenal due to lack of chances under manager Mikel Arteta.
The Times have added that the English striker is ‘keen on the move’ to Newcastle.
Could Eddie Nketiah’s transfer from Arsenal to Newcastle happen?
In our view, there is a chance that Nketiah could become a Newcastle player before the January transfer window closes on Monday night.
Based on the report in The Times, it seems that the Arsenal player – described as a “a natural goalscorer” by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent in Football365 earlier this month – wants to leave the Gunners for Newcastle now.

So, in our view, if Newcastle make an offer for the striker now, then they could well be able to sign him.
Arsenal could decide to cash in on the 22-year-old now instead of losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Nketiah is a very good and promising young striker who could flourish at any club if he gets a regular run in the team.
The striker has scored five goals in 42 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
