Paris Saint-Germain are now inclined to sell midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum this summer amid links with moves to Arsenal, Newcastle or Aston Villa.

The grass really isn’t greener for players running down their contracts at Liverpool.

Emre Can didn’t exactly advance his career by walking away from Liverpool on a free transfer and the same now goes for Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman left Liverpool last summer, joining PSG to finally work with Mauricio Pochettino – who was pipped to Wijnaldum’s signing by Liverpool in 2016.

Wijnaldum has struggled for regular starts at PSG, starting only 14 Ligue 1 games and three Champions League games.

With major competition for places, Wijnaldum is in and out of the side and L’Equipe now claim that PSG want to sell this summer.

Wijnaldum won’t be short of Premier League interest even if he is now 31.

Sky Sports claimed in January that Arsenal fancied signing Wijnaldum and the midfielder would be very interested in playing for the Gunners.

90Min noted that Wijnaldum was also open to joining Tottenham Hotspur, whilst The Athletic reported Newcastle’s interest in re-signing the Dutch international.

With PSG seemingly keen on a sale this summer, don’t be surprised if the Premier League trio – and even more in England’s top flight – make moves for Wijnaldum.

A great box to box player who was branded ‘sensational’ by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Wijnaldum can still have a major role to play in the Premier League.

Arsenal need another midfielder to bolster their options alongside Thomas Partey, whilst the same may go for Tottenham next to Rodrigo Bentancur moving forward.

Newcastle have cash to throw around this summer and returning to Tyneside for this project may be appealing to Wijnaldum.

If we had to guess the most likely destination, we would back Arsenal with Newcastle then ahead of Tottenham.
