Former United States international Taylor Twellman has taken to Twitter to claim that Arsenal have a made an offer to sign New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Arsenal are in the market for new signings this month but few would have predicted another goalkeeper being signed.
Arsenal swooped to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United in August, and he has quickly overtaken Bernd Leno as Mikel Arteta’s first-choice stopper.
The Gunners also have a number of young goalkeepers on their books, including Karl Hein, Ovie Ejeheri, James Hillson, Hubert Graczyk, Tom Smith and Arthur Okonkwo.
Still, Arsenal may now be signing another goalkeeper.
Twellman, a former US international and now a prominent pundit in the States, has claimed that Arsenal have made their move for Turner.
Twellman claims this is a ‘great opportunity’ for Turner and even New England Revolution, believing this is great exposure for MLS.
Turner, 27, is something of a late bloomer but has been simply outstanding for the Revs in recent times.
Named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021, Turner now has 13 United States caps to his name and is challenging for top spot in the US squad.

The next step for Turner is to make the move to England, and it sounds like Arsenal are ready to make that dream come true.
Turner could now join as a third choice behind Ramsdale and Leno before eventually stepping up to be second-choice next season.
Leno is expected to leave Arsenal this summer and having a replacement in now could be great forward planning.
Few would have expected Turner to be the man for Arsenal, but he is shining in the Unites States and looks set for a career and life-changing move to North London.
