Duncan Castles has said on the Transfer Window Podcast that Arsenal signing Ruben Neves depends on the Gunners selling Granit Xhaka.
Arsenal rumours
Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Neves has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Xhaka is reportedly wanted by Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.
The Times reported earlier this month that Arsenal want to sign Neves.
The Gunners reportedly believe that they can secure the services of the Portugal international midfielder fo €40 million (£34.36 million).
La Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition, page 12, June 12, 2021) has claimed that Xhaka has an agreement with Arsenal to let him leave if they get a suitable offer.
Mourinho’s Roma want the Switzerland international midfielder, as we covered here on HITC Sport.
What’s been said?
Well-known and well-respected journalist Castles has said that Arsenal signing Neves from Wolves depends on the Gunners getting money in from the sale of 28-year-old Xhaka.
Castles said on the Transfer Window Podcast: “Ruben Neves is another individual there, that one dependent on trying to sell Granit Xhaka to Roma and agreeing a price on that.”

Transfers likely?
It does seem likely that Xhaka will leave Arsenal.
If you have followed the rumours regarding Roma, you will know that the only obstacle is the Italian club agreeing a transfer fee with Arsenal.
Wolves are reportedly open to selling Neves, who is playing for Portugal at the Euro 2020 finals now.
