If Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is coming to the Emirates Stadium in the near future then it won’t be on the cheap.
Arsenal will need a “memorable bid” to sign Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic in the winter transfer window, according to the Croatian club’s sporting director.
Brozovic, 22, has emerged as a top target for Arsenal since the start of the season, with scouts reported to have watched him in action on several occasions.
His agent, Miroslav Bicanic, revealed last month that he planned to hold talks with the north London outfit over a possible move, while the likes of Atletico Madrid, Besiktas and Inter Milan have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Dinamo executive director Zdravko Mamic has since warned, however, that Brozovic’s suitors will have to table irresistible offers in order to acquire the promising Croatia international’s services.
We have no offers,” Mamic told sportski.net. “If someone wants one of our key players it can only be with a memorable bid — if they knock me off my feet.
“That is my principle. And the numbers appearing in the media do not interest us.”
Brozovic has become a central figure at Dinamo since arriving from Lokomotiva in August 2012, breaking into Niko Kovac’s World Cup squad this past summer on the back of his impressive performances.
Capable of filling a defensive midfield role, despite featuring further up the pitch for the Croatian champions, a winter approach from the Gunners remains possible, but it seems that Arsene Wenger will now have to part with more than the €8 million figure which has been reported in recent weeks.
