Mykhaylo Mudryk is determined to sign for Arsenal and some sources believe that a deal with the Gunners will end up materialising.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Mudryk is focused on a Premier League move and Arsenal is his preferred destination.

Arsenal have been speaking to both Shakhtar and Mudryk’s representatives, helping the winger decide that the Gunners are the club for him.

It’s added that sources close to the move believe it will end up happening but there is no deal in place between the clubs just yet.

There had been some concern that Arsenal would pivot away from signing Mudryk in January.

The injury to Gabriel Jesus means Arsenal may need to prioritise a striker over a winger but Arsenal remain in the hunt for Mudryk.

Mudryk wants Arsenal in blow to Premier League rivals

This will definitely excite Arsenal fans, with many blown away by Mudryk in the Champions League.

The 21-year-old – clocked as the fastest player in the Champions League group stage – was a constant threat against Real Madrid, Celtic and RB Leipzig in Shakhtar’s group.

Mudryk is devastating on the counter attack and the threat he poses could add another dimension to this exciting Arsenal attack.

10 goals and eight assists in 18 games this season just goes to show Mudryk’s outstanding attacking impact and Arsenal weren’t the only ones interested.

iNews noted in September that Newcastle United were weighing up a £50million bid to bring Mudryk to St James’ Park.

Yet with Mudryk seemingly deciding that he wants Arsenal over anybody else – Newcastle and others may now face disappointment.

The influence of Ukrainian international teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko can’t be ignored here and that link-up may just help Arsenal beat their rivals in the race to sign Mudryk.

Whether this deal happens in January or at the end of the season is unclear but Arsenal seem to be in the box seat.
