Arsenal are pushing to secure Mykhaylo Mudryk amid hope that Chelsea may now be moving on having agreed to sign Joao Felix.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Arsenal held new talks to sign Mudryk on Monday.
Romano notes that Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mudryk has been Arsenal’s top priority throughout the window and those talks were held in the hope of a deal.
Romano adds that the deal isn’t in the final stages just yet but did highlight that Chelsea have agreed to sign Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix.
That means Chelsea may not be quite as interested in Mudryk anymore, or that Arsenal are focusing entirely on Mudryk with Felix no longer a possibility.
Either way, that points towards Mudryk moving closer to finally joining Arsenal, the club he is desperate to join even with Chelsea keen.

Arsenal appear to be nearing Mykhaylo Mudryk deal
Romano’s claims come as Foot Mercato suggest that a deal for Mudryk to join Arsenal is very close.
They suggest that Arsenal have taken a ‘decisive advantage’ in the race to sign Mudryk, pushing ahead of Chelsea.
It’s stated that there is almost an agreement over the fee for Mudryk but Arsenal and Shakhtar are still negotiating bonuses and add-ons.
The report adds that Mudryk will ‘undoubtedly join England in the coming days’ with the winger’s move drawing closer and closer.
Shakhtar would allegedly get the €100million (£88million) they have been seeing with the Kroenke family willing to strike a deal to help Arsenal’s title push.
Mudryk, 21, has been ridiculous this season with 10 goals and eight assists in just 18 games for Shakhtar.
Mudryk is absolutely rapid and can give Mikel Arteta another dangerous attacking threat on the flanks.
Paying that kind of cash for a player in Ukraine is a gamble, but Mudryk looks to have enormous potential and Arsenal seem confident that he will be a star.
