Arsenal want Mykhaylo Mudryk and European football expert Andy Brassell is expecting him to be a Premier League player in January.
Brassell – well known for his appearances on BT Sport and On The Continent – was speaking on Sky Sports earlier today.
Brassell firstly hailed Mudryk’s performances in the Champions League, highlighting that he was ‘brilliant’ on Europe’s biggest stage.
Brentford wanted to sign Mudryk over the summer but Brassell noted that their window to sign him has probably closed now.
Brassell added that getting Mudryk out of Shakhtar is ‘difficult’ but he is thoroughly expecting the ‘very quick’ winger to be a Premier League player soon.
“He’s very quick, he’s got great game intelligence and he was brilliant in the Champions League this season for Shakhtar,” said Brassell.
“He was very, very close to ending up not far down the road from here at Brentford in the summer. I think Brentford have definitely missed their Mykhaylo Mudryk window because playing so well in the Champions League has knocked his price right up.”
“There are a few Premier League clubs really interested in him. It’s a difficult deal to piece together and negotiations are happening at the moment, but I would expect him to be a Premier League player by the end of January,” he added.

Arsenal are favourites for Mykhaylo Mudryk
Those comments will only serve to increase the hopes of Arsenal fans who want to see Mudryk in the famous red and white shirt.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Mudryk for months now, going back as far as before the summer transfer deadline.
The Athletic claimed on Monday that Mudryk is focused on a Premier League move and Arsenal is his preferred destination.
They added that sources close to the deal expect Arsenal to sign Mudryk in January even if a deal hasn’t been agreed just yet.
There have been some concerns that Arsenal will have to shelve their interest in Mudryk for a while in order to focus on a striker.
Gabriel Jesus has picked up a significant injury and leaves Arsenal with just one senior striker in Eddie Nketiah.
Yet Arsenal may appreciate that they risk missing out on Mudryk completely if they don’t sign him now.
They may even look to use Mudryk on the left wing with Gabriel Martinelli shifting to play centrally in Arsenal’s attack.
That makes the most sense for Arsenal if they do spend big money on Mudryk, and an exciting January deal seems to be in the pipeline.
