Arsenal have slipped back behind rivals Tottenham since catching them up earlier this month.

They should look to get one over on their North London competitors in the transfer market this January.

The Sun report Spurs are keen on signing Norwich City sensation Max Aarons for £15 million.

Tottenham would have to sweeten the deal for Norwich by loaning him back to the Canaries for the end of the season, just like they did with MK Dons and Dele Alli in 2015.

Aarons is a player who Arsenal need even more than Spurs, and the Gunners should try to get in ahead for the teenager.

Aarons, 18, has been a regular for Daniel Farke’s side this season at right-back.

Norwich sit in second place after a surprisingly strong start to the season and are bidding to win promotion.

Tottenham already have Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters as strong options at right-back.

Arsenal have been in need of strong competition for Hector Bellerin for a while.

A summer move for Stephan Lichtsteiner was only a short-term stop gap.

Lichtsteiner, 34, was at fault for Brighton’s equaliser in midweek and saw his performance graded just 3/10 by ESPN.

A move for a young, exciting right-back is a must. Aarons fits the bill, and Arsenal cannot allow rivals Spurs to get a free run at the promising 18-year-old.
