A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.
Arsenal have been handed an in-direct go ahead to make a move for FC Schalke’s Julian Draxler.
The Gunners were linked with a £37 million move last January which never quite came off before the transfer deadline. Schalke’s Clemens Tonnies has revealed he believes the player will move in the future.
“What’s important to me is that the transfer benefits the club, too. Even though it is a shame to see players like [Manuel] Neuer or maybe sometime in the future Draxler go: One should not pocket the money and then moan about it afterwards,” he told TZ.
Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky will reportedly sign a new contract with the club by the end of the week.
Arsene Wenger recently confirmed that an agreement is already in place, it’s just a matter of time before the news is official and the Czech believes that the Gunners can still win the Premier League.
“Arsene Wenger wants me to stay, he wants our co-operation to continue. I want to stay,” he told CTK.
France national coach Didier Deschamps has backed Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud over the controversy surrounding his private life.
Giroud was recently caught on camera by a British newspaper meeting a model at a London hotel.
“It’s disturbing. But it has not prevented him from being efficient and scoring goals when he has played for his club,” said the coach.
