A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.
The Daily Mail has reported that Arsenal are eyeing up a move for Bayer Leverkusen star Lars Bender.
The German international is a player the Gunners have been linked with before and he could be a very good midfield signing for the club.
He’s rated at around the £19 million mark, which Arsenal shouldn’t have any problem paying if they decide to go after him.
Arsenal have been boosted in relation to another Bundesliga target with Bayern Munich ruling themselves out of the running for Julian Draxler.
The £37 million rated attacking midfielder was the subject of a lot scramble from Arsenal to sign him at the end of the last transfer window.
“We are not buying any player from Dortmund or Schalke just to hurt these clubs. We are just buying players who can give FC Bayern more quality straight away. I can rule out that we will sign Julian Draxler in the summer,” Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is quoted by the Mirror.
Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have both escaped punishment following Andre Marriner’s blunder last weekend.
The Premier League official sent off Gibbs in a case of mistaken identity after the Ox handled a shot inside the Gunners’ penalty area.
Both players have dodged a suspension and will be available to play against Swansea this evening if needed.
