Mikel Arteta admires Wilfried Zaha and Arsenal could make a move for the Crystal Palace winger with his contract expiring next summer.

Zaha is surely about to become one of the most in-demand free agents on the market.

The Ivorian winger is out of contract at the end of the season and a new deal with Crystal Palace now seems a little unlikely.

Zaha turns 30 in November and the time may be right to step up a level after giving so much service to the Eagles.

Mikel Arteta admires Wilfried Zaha

Palace have always wanted big money for Zaha but the possibility of signing him on a free transfer will appeal to many clubs.

90Min now claim that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is an admirer of Zaha and the Gunners could make their move.

Arsenal have two young and exciting wingers in Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka but adding an experienced wide man could give Arteta the perfect blend.

Zaha has so much talent, especially when using skill to go past defenders, and he has worked on his end product over the years.

What makes the Arsenal link so interesting is Zaha’s personal connection to the Gunners.

Zaha was allegedly a boyhood Arsenal fan and his brother Judicael was quoted in 2019 as saying it’s Zaha’s ‘dream’ to play for Arsenal.

Zaha has even admitted in the past that the Emirates Stadium is his favourite away ground.

With Arteta a big fan, those away trips to play at the Emirates once a season could be a thing of the past; that could be Zaha’s home.

Edu has built this exciting Arsenal team with young players, so going for a 30-year-old on a free transfer would be something of a departure.

Still, Zaha appears to love Arsenal and with Arteta an admirer, 2023 could be the time for Zaha to finally make the move he’s been dreaming of for years.
