Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has suggested that Gabriel Martinelli and Fabio Vieira have already formed amazing chemistry with each other.

The Gunners were in fine form on Wednesday night as they beat Everton 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta’s men exorcised some demons having lost 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park last month.

Goals from Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard scored either side of a Gabriel Martinelli goal before the Brazilian added his second and Arsenal’s fourth

That win takes Arsenal five points clear at the top of the Premier League table and inching closer to a stunning title win.

Mikel Arteta talks up Gabriel Martinelli and Fabio Vieira

Wednesday’s display was a great showing for both Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

The pair were able to interchange between left wing and striker, swapping roles to great effect.

That fluidity caused chaos in the Everton back line and it was no surprise to see Martinelli score twice and Trossard pick up an assist.

After the final whistle against Everton, Arteta was asked about their connection just weeks into Trossard’s Arsenal career.

After all, Trossard also set up Martinelli to score against Leicester City last weekend.

Arteta told Football London that these relationship emerge naturally and he feels Martinelli is building his chemistry with Trossard right now.

Yet Arteta also placed a keen focus on the chemistry between Martinelli and playmaker Fabio Vieira.

Arteta feels that the duo can show their outstanding chemistry if they play together, seemingly hinting at an exciting partnership between the pair.

“I think relationships build in teams naturally. He has even more chemistry with Fabio when you see them play. He’s building that with Leo and his confidence is high again and he’s in a good mood,” said Arteta.

Vieira has only started one Premier League game this season and come off the bench in 14.

This is a settling-in season for the Portuguese talent, who joined Arsenal from Porto last summer.

The pair have only been on the pitch together for 588 minutes at Arsenal, across all competitions.

There has only been one direct goal between the two; Vieira set up Martinelli to seal the 4-2 win at Aston Villa last month.

This partnership hasn’t yet emerged as a real weapon for Arsenal but Arteta seems confident that, given more time in the future, Martinelli and Vieira could become a devastating duo.
