Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admires Ferran Torres but a January move to North London is unlikely as he wants to stay at Barcelona.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Arteta is a fan of Torres and doesn’t appear to be the only person inside Arsenal who feels that way.
Barcelona’s financial position also means that, if it isn’t nailed down at the Camp Nou, there’s a chance it could be sold.
That may give Arsenal some hope of a deal, with Torres a potential alternative to Mykhailo Mudryk following his move to Chelsea.
Yet there is a real problem for Arsenal in this possible transfer chase – Torres isn’t all that interested in moving.
Torres only joined Barcelona from Manchester City in January of last year and it’s really keen on leaving the Camp Nou just yet.
Arsenal would seemingly have to give Torres an offer he simply he couldn’t refuse, with a January move looking unlikely.

Ferran Torres ideal for Arsenal but Mudryk saga leaves them in nightmare situation
You can absolutely understand why Arsenal are interested in Torres.
The 22-year-old has Premier League experience under his belt with City and scored three times in five Champions League games this season.
Torres is just 22 and has major potential, something Arteta would surely love to tap into at the Emirates Stadium.
Torres is also very appealing because of his versatility.
Left flank, right flank, centrally; Torres is the ideal versatile player Arsenal would no doubt love to be able to interchange across the front line.
A deal doesn’t seem likely though and it has been a similar story with Raphinha; he and Torres just don’t want to leave Barcelona right now.
Arsenal put so much time and effort into signing Mudryk, only for him to join Chelsea instead.
That leaves Arsenal with just two weeks to try and find another attacker, which isn’t a great deal of time.
Arsenal are facing a nightmare situation now; their top target has gone and their top alternatives seemingly aren’t keen on moving.
Hopefully Edu can pull something out of the bag in the next fortnight, with Arsenal potentially a couple of additions away from winning the Premier League title.
