Arsenal already have high hopes for Folarin Balogun, but still brought in a new striker this summer in Mika Biereth – and it already looks like a masterstroke.
The Gunners wanted to add another young striker, most likely preparing for Balogun to be around the first-team more regularly.
Arsenal ended up raiding London rivals Fulham for Biereth.
After losing Harvey Elliott and Dennis Adeniran in recent years, Fulham saw another top prospect leave the club.
It’s early days for Biereth at Arsenal, but he’s making a huge impact already.
Biereth shining for Arsenal
Biereth, 18, is already part of Arsenal’s Under-23’s. He bagged a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win over Crystal Palace last month.
On Sunday, Arsenal’s Under-23’s took on Chelsea. Biereth smashed a hat-trick, firing the Gunners to a 6-1 win.
His first was an acrobatic yet controlled finish from a Balogun cross. Biereth added Arsenal’s fourth, and then grabbed his hat-trick from close range in the second half.
Biereth doesn’t turn 19 until February, and the physical striker looks poised for a big future at Arsenal.

Players react to Biereth goal
Biereth took to Instagram to post the first goal of his hat-trick, leading to praise from all corners.
A number of Arsenal teammates hailed Biereth, branding him ‘quality’ and ‘some player’.
Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala loved the finish, with Southampton’s Valentino Livramento adding his praise for the striker too.
Here are reactions from some players after Biereth’s Arsenal exploits…
