Arsenal midfielder, Ismael Bennacer, is looking to spend another season on loan away from the Emirates. The Algerian has revealed his desire in an interview with C’est Vous L’Expert.

The 19-year-old joined Arsenal in 2015, and is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Gunners. He made his senior debut for the north London club against Sheffield Wednesday in 2015 in the fourth round of the Football League Cup tie.

During the January transfer window, Bennacer was loaned out to Ligue 2 side, Tours, for the rest of the season.

The midfielder, who represented Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations held in Gabon, is hoping to seal another temporary switch away from the Emirates.

Bennacer says that he will discuss his future with Wenger in May, and it is up to the Frenchman to make a decision.

“I’d like to go back out on loan, but I’m going to go over things with Wenger in May, and it’ll be up to him to decide,” Bennacer told C’est Vous L’Expert, as quoted by La Gazette du Fennec.

“Personally, I’d really like to go out on loan because at my age, I need to get as much game time as I can and not ask myself too many questions.”

Bennacer started off as an attacking left-footed midfielder, but has mainly played as a defensive midfielder in recent months.

Arsenal already have a top quality left-footed midfielder in Granit Xhaka, who plays in Bennacer’s position, and as such it is almost impossible for him to get regular first team football.

A loan move to France is the best possible option for him to continue his development. He can also join a Championship club, but whether Arsenal opt for that route remains to be seen.
