Arsenal are keen on signing Crystal Palace playmaker Michael Olise this summer – but his release clause looks set to increase very soon.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Palace are keen to hike up the release clause on Olise’s contract.
Palace paid just £8million to sign Olise from Reading last summer and he has impressed in his first Premier League season.
Olise, 20, has racked up four goals and nine assists in 32 games across all competitions this season.
Olise has earned huge praise as a result, with pundit Darren Bent branding the youngster a ‘sensational’ player after hearing that Arsenal want him.
The Times reported last week that Olise has a release clause of just £35million – which could be paid this summer.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Arsenal fancy signing Olise this summer as they continue to look for top young talent.
Seeing Olise thrive under former Arsenal hero Patrick Vieira won’t have gone unnoticed at the Emirates Stadium.
Yet if Arsenal were hoping to pay that £35million clause, they may be left a little disappointed.
The Athletic claim that Palace want to increase the release clause in Olise’s deal to at least £50million as the Eagles eye a club-record deal should Olise leave.

Olise is now close to a new contract under this terms, adding another year onto his deal whilst hiking up the release clause.
That’s a blow for Arsenal, who maybe won’t want to go to around £50million for Olise.
Arsenal already have the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli on the flanks, so splashing such a huge fee on another creative wide man just doesn’t add up.
Olise will likely stay on the Arsenal radar for a while, but don’t expect to see him arrive this summer.
