Arteta calls up 19 y/o Ramsey-like Arsenal starlet to training ahead of Newcastle clash

Mauro Bandeira has been called up to Arsenal training ahead of his side’s contest against Newcastle United on Sunday.

However, this is far from the first instance in which the 19-year-old has trained with the senior team, as he was also spotted in the build-up to his side’s 3-1 win against Chelsea.

Once again, as Arsenal ready themselves for a title-defining contest against Newcastle United, Mauro Bandeira has been training with the big boys.

The teenager is a natural box-to-box midfielder, known for powering with the ball forward, being an expert tackler already and an adept passer of the ball.

Naturally, the hype surrounding the Portuguese wonderkid is through the roof within the Gunners youth system, with Football Fan Cast branding him as the ‘next [Aaron] Ramsey’ as well as the ‘next [Granit] Xhaka.’

Youth football expert Jeorge Bird has now made a claim that Mauro Bandeira was training with the Arsenal senior side ahead of their upcoming contest against Newcastle.

A peak at the Gunners’ side over the last couple of years and some of the protagonists have been Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.

Instead of being unique cases, Arsenal seemingly aspire to blood in more such young prospects such as Mauro Bandeira, giving them a feel of what being a first-team player is like by allowing them to train ahead of big games such as against Newcastle.

The likes of Bradley Ibrahim, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand and Reuell Walters are some of the host of youngsters that also seem to be involved fairly regularly amongst the senior setup.

While Edu Gaspar has been deservedly lauded for his impressive recruitment, finding in-house solutions could save the club a lot of investment whilst helping them to unearth some of the most talented prospects in the country.
