Arsenal now appear to be on the verge of signing New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner after allegedly agreeing terms over a deal.
That’s according to ESPN pundit Taylor Twellman, who made the claim on Twitter earlier this evening.
Twellman is a former United States international and New England Revolution star himself, so he has great sources within the MLS club.
Now a leading pundit for football in America, Twellman has claimed that terms have now been agreed for Turner to join Arsenal.
Twellman claism the move will actually take place in the summer rather than before Monday’s winter transfer deadline.
Twellman added that the documents for the deal haven’t yet been filed, but Arsenal appear to have got their man.
Turner must now try and put the transfer situation to one side, as he will start for the US against El Salvador in just a few hours.
The Guardian reported last week that Arsenal had already discussed personal terms for Turner’s move to North London.
That report suggested that Turner would be joining this month, allowing Bernd Leno to leave Arsenal.
Yet with the deadline approaching quickly, maybe Leno can’t get a move away and Arsenal are willing to wait for Turner’s arrival.

Turner, 27, wasn’t even drafted in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft and has been something of a late bloomer in MLS.
Now with 13 caps for the US national team and the recipient of the Goalkeeper of the Year award in MLS for 2021, Turner has become a star.
Arsenal have spotted Turner’s quality over in America, and are now on the verge of bringing him to the Premier League.
American stoppers like Kasey Keller, Brad Friedel, Tim Howard, Marcus Hahnemann, Brad Guzan and Zack Steffen have all carved out Premier League careers.
Turner will now look to follow in their footsteps, though he will seemingly have to wait a few months to start his Arsenal career.
