Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard has heaped praise on Jorginho after seeing the midfielder make a big impact with the Gunners.
Odegaard has been speaking to the London Evening Standard after Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
Leandro Trossard set up Gabriel Martinelli’s winner at the King Power Stadium whilst fellow January signing Jorginho impressed in midfield.
The duo appear to be giving Arsenal a real boost and Odegaard has moved to praise Jorginho.
The Norwegian suggested that Jorginho’s experience is ideal for Arsenal and he is helping boost the mentality around young players.
Odegaard added that Jorginho is a ‘great player’ and is ‘nice to play with’ given his calmness and passing accuracy on the ball.
“Great guys, they bring a lot of good things to the team,” said Odegaard. “Jorginho especially has a lot of experience. He’s won a lot of things, brings that mentality into the team and helps the young players. It’s great to have him on board.”
“He’s a great player, we saw that from the first day when he came here. He brings a lot of quality, he’s very calm on the ball, finds the right passes and dictates the game. He’s nice to play with,” he added.

Jorginho still faces fight to stay in Arsenal team
Jorginho has already proven exactly why Mikel Arteta wanted to bring him to Arsenal in the first place.
The 31-year-old was snapped up on deadline day to offer cover and competition for Thomas Partey in holding midfield.
Partey’s recent injury has put Jorginho into the team and he hasn’t let Arsenal down whilst also seemingly offering valuable experience to a young squad.
Jorginho had his doubters when Arsenal pounced to sign him from Chelsea but so far, he has been a positive influence on the Gunners team.
The challenge for Jorginho now is to stay in the team.
Partey is back from injury and will be gunning to take back that spot in front of the back four.
Jorginho and Partey are very different players and it may be a case of Arteta changing his team to suit the opposition.
Partey may well have the edge for most games but with Odegaard’s praise ringing in his ears, Jorginho must keep turning in the strong performances when given the chance.
