Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has hailed the impact of summer signings Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus after leaving Manchester City.

Odegaard has speaking to The Mirror ahead of today’s game against Crystal Palace and picked out both Zinchenko and Jesus for praise.

Odegaard believes that Jesus returning from injury is massive for Arsenal as he ‘gives everything’ for the team and has real leadership.

The Norwegian highlighted Jesus winning trophies at Manchester City as being a valuable resource for Arsenal.

Odegaard admitted that both Jesus and Zinchenko ‘bring different thinking’ to the Arsenal side and their experience is absolutely vital.

“He gives everything in all situations so it is great to have him back,” said Odegaard. “Of course, he helps with leadership, he has been at Manchester City and won a few things there, so he can help with his experience and his energy as well.

“The players from City just bring different thinking, they have the experience and people listen to them when they talk. They are calm under pressure and add a lot of things. The whole team is helping each other so that is the main thing,” he added.

Arsenal will be very happy with Jesus and Zinchenko deals amid Martin Odegaard praise

The Gunners really needed to take the next step forward after missing out on the Champions League at the end of last season.

Mikel Arteta decided to focus his attention on signing two players he already knew well in Jesus and Zinchenko.

Arsenal paid £45million to sign Jesus before pouncing to land Zinchenko just a few weeks later in a £32million move.

That was a huge outlay from Arsenal but Arteta knew what he was getting – two players who know how to win.

Jesus and Zinchenko racked up the trophies at Manchester City together and whilst Pep Guardiola was happy to let them go, Arsenal are now benefiting.

Zinchenko has been an incredible leader for Arsenal this season and seems to be driving the Gunners on at the top of the table.

Jesus may have been injured for a while but he has been spotted cheering on his teammates in recent months, including fellow striker Eddie Nketiah.

Jesus is now back in action and, alongside Zinchenko, he will be vital for Arsenal’s title hopes in the coming weeks.
