Arsenal want Marco Asensio with agent Jorge Mendes ‘testing the ground’ for a potential January move away amid his Real Madrid anger.
The Gunners are likely to be in the market for another winger in 2023.
Nicolas Pepe’s loan move to Nice has left Arsenal a little short on the right flank even if Marquinhos is showing potential.
Reiss Nelson seemingly won’t fulfil his potential at Arsenal and is likely to be on the move next year.
Edu may now be in the market for a new wide man and Asensio is a name that just keep coming up again and again.

Arsenal want Marco Asensio
The Mirror reported in August that Arsenal were ‘in the box seat’ to sign Asensio before the transfer deadline.
Real were seemingly hoping for a decision one way or another… and Asensio ended up staying put.
Whether that was Asensio’s decision or whether Arsenal chose not to make a bid is unclear, but it hasn’t exactly gone well.
Asensio threw a strop on Sunday after Asensio was an unused substitute in Real Madrid’s 4-1 thrashing of his former club Mallorca.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti admitted that Asensio was ‘angry’ at not playing and understands why the Spaniard feels the way he does right now.
The 26-year-old has played just eight minutes in La Liga this season and was given just 10 minutes of action in the Champions League win over Celtic last week.
It’s clear that Asensio just isn’t in Ancelotti’s plans right now and an exit seems inevitable in 2023.
Arsenal are once again being linked with Asensio.
Calciomercato claim that agent Jorge Mendes is attempting to get Asensio’s name out there ahead of a potential January move.
Asensio is out of contract in 2023 and Mendes is seemingly checking whether clubs would pay a small fee in January or take the Spaniard for nothing next summer.
AC Milan and Arsenal are both mentioned as being suitors for Asensio, with a potential bargain in the offing.
Asensio has been hailed as ‘world class’ by Vicente del Bosque but clearly needs a fresh start away from Real Madrid.
Arsenal may well be able to secure a cut-price deal for Asensio in 2023, and having spoken to Mendes about signing Pedro Neto, Asensio could be a fall-back option.
